ABOUT
The Minnesota Shubert Performing Arts and Education Center & Globe University/Minnesota School of Business will hop on the tour bus with Austro-American band Visions of Atlantis & Dutch band Epica on their North American Tour to reveal how a band takes its music from idea to album to stage.

Music business professionals – including record label executives, booking agents managers, sound engineers, music journalists, music distributors, entertainment lawyers, and band members – will open up their world to you.

Participants can log on to the Backstage Pass section of the Minnesota Shubert Performing Arts & Education Center website for weekly interviews, blogs, video clips & photo galleries. Through the forum, participants can ask the artists and industry professionals questions. Special events will be posted on the program website as well!

Topics that will be covered:
* Why is there a business around music?
* How do bands write music?
* What is a record label, how does it work, and how do I get my band signed?
* The process beyond creating the music.
* Booking a tour…what is involved?
* Myths and realities.
* Entertainment law.
* Magazines, music television & radio.
and much more!!

Students can complete project-based learning activities that will be rewarded by the bands. Classrooms across Minnesota will be able to connect live with these professionals via interactive video-conference sessions on September 20.
